About Us

Primary Feathers is organizing a series of bird walks with presidential candidates who are campaigning in the First-of-the-Nation primary state of New Hampshire.

Our walks will take place throughout the Granite State, providing a positive, no-pressure setting in which candidates can enjoy the outdoors and share their priorities with local conservationists.  Our effort features no paid activists, no pledges, no scorecards – just real conversations with regular people who are likely to work hard for a candidate who shares their conservation values. Its retail politics with binoculars.

This all-volunteer effort is being organized by Sheridan Brown of Grantham, New Hampshire, an avid birdwatcher and longtime conservation advocate. Sheridan is a practicing attorney and former United States Senate aide who has served in professional and volunteer roles with a variety of local, state, and national conservation organizations and projects during the past three decades.

If you’re a candidate, please come out for a walk with our with fun-loving birdwatchers and conservationists who are doing incredible work locally.  They will inspire you, and they will underscore the importance of having a President and federal government who are partners with states and local communities in environmental protection.  They will also highlight what can be done when we work together—including finding good birds.

If you’re a birdwatcher or conservationist who would like to join one of our walks, please send along your contact information using the form here.
